From page to perfume

September 2024 sees the addition of two new scents into the expanded Miller Harris Stories collection. Inspired by famous literature set in New York and the Scottish Hebridean Isle of Skye. Meet STACCATO and MINEIR.

Miller Harris’s Stories Collection is an immersive journey through scent and story. A collection of five scents, developed using single pages of text chosen from famous literature at the only inspiration to help convey a certain emotion for the wearer of the fragrance.

Staccato takes inspiration from the New York setting in “Age of Innocence” by Edith Warton

Developed by perfumer Karine Vinchon-Spehner, Staccato explores the dynamic between decency and desire. Entwining delicate rose scents with sweet honey alongside fiery ginger to symbolise attraction. Leathery notes and spices have been combined to evoke the far-off-bazaar as referenced in the chosen text. An addictive, woody leather scent.

Mìneir is inspired by a passage in 'To the Lighthouse', by Virginia Woolf

Inspired by the isolation and personal battles explored within Virginia Woolf’s ‘To the Lighthouse,’ perfumer Emilie Bouge worked to recall the icy and dark night air described in the text.An aromatic marine, Mìneir opens with fresh, spicy cardamom combined with crispy aromatic sage, mint and eucalyptus to present the exhilaration of freedom entwined with isolation on a cold evening.
